8 NFL Teams to wear patches

Eight teams will wear patches this year. The Chiefs will wear a white patch in the shape of a circle to honor their late owner, Lamar Hunt. The Rams will wear a black patch to honor their late owner, Georgia Frontiere. The Jets will wear a patch commemorating the 40th anniversary of winning Super Bowl III, the Titans will wear one celebrating their 10th anniversary as the Tennessee Titans, the Lions will wear a 75th anniversary patch, the Bills will wear one reminding fans they will play the Dolphins in Toronto on Dec. 7, and the Saints and Chargers will wear the same patch as a reminder they will meet in London on Oct. 26. -- News-Herald

Didn't the Eagles and Rams have Patches to honor Gene Upshall? Was that only for 1 game?

Every team and every field has the Upshaw Patch, and they'll wear it for the season ...

so does this mean that the 8 teams will wear 2 patches on their jersey?

well i think Dallas will probably look more like girl scouts with merit badges (don't mean to offend girl scouts) hehehe

More and more NFLers are wearing the patch. No, not anti-smoking patches. The captain's patch. Last season, the NFL incorporated "C" shoulder patches for captains to be worn on uniforms like hockey. Twenty-six teams voted permanent captains to wear the patch on a season-long basis. Six teams did not, however, instead electing to have the coaches select the captains on a weekly basis. But this season only four teams are designating captains on a weekly basis: Atlanta, Baltimore, Green Bay and Philadelphia. Last season, those 26 teams voted 131 permanent captains. This season, there are 141 permanent captains. But there are only 74 repeaters. Only four teams brought back their entire corps of captains intact: Detroit, Indianapolis, San Diego and Tennessee. -- Dallas Morning News

Looks as if I was wrong, which means that what I heard last week was wrong and I repeated it. I haven't seen and the Upshaw patches today, not on the jerseys or on the fields ...
