The Flyers' season is still be 6 days from the opening of training camp, but they already have one player walking around on crutches.

Backup goalie Antero Niittymaki is going to miss training camp and will be out of action for at least 4 weeks after having surgery on his left hip to clean out his troublesome labrum.

Niittymaki had the procedure done last week after experiencing pain and inflammation during training this summer, general manager Paul Holmgren said.
